Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 September 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Claymate (“Claymate”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Claymate mobile app and this website (https://claymate.io). Contact: contact@claymate.io.
What Claymate is
Claymate is a pottery companion that helps you remember pieces, materials, firings, and results. It is offline-first: your studio records live on your device, and may sync to cloud storage when you use a signed-in account with sync enabled.
Information we process
- Account information. If you create an account: email address, and Sign in with Apple or Google identifiers when those providers are enabled. Guest use does not require a permanent account.
- Pottery and studio records. Pieces, stages, clay, surface layers, locations, firings, recipes, glaze formulas, test tiles, measurements, notes, studio marks, reminders, kilns, workflow stages, and related studio setup you enter.
- Photos. Photos you capture or upload for pieces, results, and test tiles. They are stored privately for your account, not in a public gallery.
- Voice-note audio. Short voice memos you record on pieces, including associated metadata such as duration.
- Reminders and notifications. Local reminders you schedule (for pieces or an estimated firing finish). Notification permission is requested when you use reminders. Claymate does not claim a kiln is safe to open.
- Subscription and entitlement metadata. Entitlement status, product identifiers, and renewal dates provided by Apple, Google Play (when available), and RevenueCat. Claymate does not store full payment card numbers.
- Device and technical data. App version, device type, and similar diagnostics needed to run the app or website.
- Support communications. Messages you send through this website or email.
- Website analytics. Optional, environment-gated analytics on this site (for example page views and CTA events) when configured. You can use the marketing pages without creating an account.
Analytics and attribution (when enabled)
The Claymate app may use PostHog for product analytics and AppsFlyer for install attribution only when those services are explicitly enabled in the app configuration. Event properties are sanitized so free-text notes, names, emails, photo paths, and similar content are not sent as analytics properties. If a service is not enabled, that processing does not occur.
How we use information
- Provide Claymate features — recording, organizing, syncing, and recovering your studio memory
- Authenticate you and protect your account
- Process subscriptions and entitlements through the stores and RevenueCat
- Respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests
- Operate and improve this website (including optional analytics when enabled)
- Maintain security and diagnose technical issues
Cloud storage and processing
When cloud sync is enabled for your signed-in account, studio records and private media can be stored with our database and private object storage (currently Supabase) so they can be recovered on a signed-in device. Guest studios that never sync remain on-device.
Processors and service providers
Depending on configuration, processors may include:
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store billing, device notifications
- Google — Sign in with Google and Google Play billing when enabled
- Supabase — authentication, database, private media storage
- RevenueCat — subscription entitlements
- PostHog — product or website analytics when enabled
- AppsFlyer — attribution when enabled
- Resend — transactional email from this website
- Vercel — hosting this website
These providers process data as needed to provide their services to Claymate. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention
Account-associated studio data is retained while your account exists and sync is in use. You may export a copy of your studio from Settings. After you delete your account, associated account and synced studio data is removed as described on the Delete Claymate Account page. Support emails and operational logs may be kept as long as needed to respond to you and maintain the service. Specific retention windows for third-party processors follow those providers’ practices.
Account deletion
You can delete your Claymate account in the app (Settings → Delete Account) or from claymate.io/delete-account after verifying account ownership. Deletion is permanent. Deleting a Claymate account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription — cancel through the applicable store. Export and account deletion are never Pro features.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to Claymate, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), authentication, and access controls such as row-level security on synced data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
International processing
Claymate and its processors may process data in countries other than where you live. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer for cross-border transfers.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Email contact@claymate.io with the subject “Privacy”. You may also delete your account as described above.
Children
Claymate is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country).
Changes
We will update this page when Claymate’s data practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
