Can I use Claymate without creating an account?

Yes. You can start as a guest and keep records on your device. When you create an account, Claymate keeps that same studio instead of starting over.

What can I save on a piece?

Photos, stage, clay, ordered surface layers, location, firing context, linear measurements, notes, results and a studio mark.

Can I track glaze or surface layers?

Yes. Surfaces are kept as ordered layers, including coats, area and application details. Order matters: A over B is not stored as the same thing as B over A.

Can Claymate track firings?

Yes, as a firing log: type, cone, kiln, which pieces are in it, notes and an optional estimated finish. Claymate does not control kilns and does not tell you when a kiln is safe to open. Completing a firing does not automatically rate your pieces.

Can Claymate calculate shrinkage?

Yes, from matching wet and fired linear measurements (height, width or diameter). It never calculates shrinkage from weight.

What is Make Again?

Make Again creates a new piece from a successful setup — form, clay, ordered surface layers, firing context and related notes. It does not change the original piece, and it does not copy photos or measured sizes onto the new one.

Can I use my own workflow stages?

Yes. The default path is Formed, Trimming, Bisque, Glazing, Firing, Finished. You can add, rename and reorder stages. Trimming is not required.

How do studio marks work?

Claymate can assign simple readable marks (for example 26-041) so similar pieces are easier to tell apart. Search accepts those marks. This is not a barcode or QR scanner.

How do I create an account?

In Claymate, choose Create Account and use email. If you already have guest records on that phone, they stay with the new account.

Can I sign in with Apple or Google?

Sign in with Apple is offered on iPhone. Google is offered when that provider is enabled in the app. Email always works for creating an account.

What happens to local pottery records when I create an account?

They stay. Create Account keeps the studio you already started.

What happens if I sign in on another device?

Sign In recovers an existing Claymate account. It will not merge a different guest studio into that account. If this device already has work that is not on the account, export or create an account for that work first.

How do I delete my account?

From Profile → Settings, use Delete Account. It is never locked behind Pro. Export first if you want a copy.

How does the free trial work?

Claymate Pro is sold through the App Store. If a trial is offered, the paywall shows the trial length, the price, and what happens when it ends. Lengths and prices come from Apple — they are not listed here as fixed facts.

How do I cancel Claymate Pro?

On iPhone: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Claymate → Cancel Subscription. Deleting Claymate does not cancel an Apple subscription.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Claymate and use Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.

I paid but Claymate still shows Free. What should I do?

Confirm you are signed into the same Apple ID you used to buy. Tap Restore Purchases in Claymate. Close and reopen the app. If it still looks wrong, contact support.

How do refunds work?

App Store purchases are refunded by Apple. Request one through Apple’s Report a Problem page.

What happens to my pottery records if I cancel Pro?

Your records stay readable and exportable. Pro tools for scale and advanced workflows may be limited until you subscribe again. Claymate does not hold your history hostage.

Pottery records belong to you. Photos are stored privately, not in a public gallery. Claymate does not sell your records.
